Machinery - an overview

The technology in the area of turning lathes and milling machines is progressing very rapidly.

Correspondingly, we constantly update and modify our machinery in order to guarantee a very precise fabrication of small and medium-sized series at maximum efficiency.

Assembly techniques

Mounting simple as well as complex subassemblies from several metal and supplied gasket parts. All water-bearing metal parts must be turned from stainless steel, at which narrow tolerances have to be strictly adhered to. The comprehensive gasket technology requires an exact sequence of the assembly, cost-optimised logistics and a final check of all functions evidenced in written form.

Components of most common materials are assembled according to customer instructions in small and medium-sized series.

Standard Parts

The task.

Production at an optimised price/performance ratio of a range of standardised fasteners together with customer specific derivative parts.

The special features.

Yokes according to DIN 71 752 and grooved nuts with a metric ISO thread according to DIN 1804 and 70 852 are used world-wide in numerous branches of industry, such as in the field of plant and machinery, mechanical engineering, industrial and marine engine construction, the electrical industry or commercial vehicle production.
Therefore all catalogue parts must be available at short notice in various types, sizes and materials.
Customer specified special parts in medium-sized and small batches – such as grooved nuts with left-hand threads or yokes with deviating slit dimensions or different thread types – require flexibility not only in tooling and production, but also in surface and heat treatment.

The solution.

Subassemblies

The Task.

Manufacture of a slide by which the cooling water circuit in the cylinder heads of large stationary engines can be interrupted for maintenance work.

The special features.

The complex construction group must be assembled from numerous metal and sub-supplied gaskets. All water-carrying metal parts must be turned from stainless steel, whereby narrow tolerances have to be observed. The comprehensive gasket technology requires an exact sequence of the assembly, cost-optimised logistics and a final check of all functions evidenced in written form.

Cutting Techniques

Whether in the field of plant and machinery, mechanical engineering, industrial and marine engine construction or commercial vehicle production - Feldmann MAB GmbH offers solutions for the improvement of a large variety of industrial equipment manufactured in Europe.

Turned parts

The task.

Production of a stainless steel sleeve with a different inner profile, which serves both as a guide and protection bush for the injection nozzle in industrial and marine engines.

The special features.

The sleeve must be made from solid material, as the inner profile does not allow the use of tube. Furthermore the inner sealing surface of the sleeve must run exactly parallel to the exterior thread; the tolerance limit is below 0.04 mm in this case (The combustion engine can only develop the full power, if the injection nozzles are in their absolutley correct position).
Compared to standard chrome-nickel alloy steels, the stainless steel A 4 used has excellent anti-corrosion protection qualities, but is extremely resistant to being machined. Traditional turning is therefore impossible, as it woul generate very high processing temperatures, leading to extreme wear of the cutting tools and the consequent deterioration of surface quality.

The solution.

How we solved this task can be read in our information brochure which can be obtained for free. Just send an email request to info@feldmann-mab.de.

CNC-milled parts

The task.

Production of a complex support made of aluminium to attach fuel filters used in trucks.

The special features.

To ensure a rational production of medium-sized series whilst guaranteeing the narrow tolerance limits, the part to be milled must be processed completely from all sides using a single clamping position. Ideally, the basic material is bar cut from aluminium plates rather than round bar stock material. This ensures those time-consuming and waste-intensive working steps, such as the repeated clamping or the making and installation of various clamping devices, are eliminated.

The solution.
